Cairo International Fair (11 - 22 March 2010)
Cairo International Fair (CIF) takes place at the Cairo International Fair Ground between 11th and 22nd March 2010.
It is organized by the General Organization for International Exhibitions & Fairs; under the auspices of the Prime Minister of Egypt and the Minister of Trade & Industry. It is a multi sectors Fair and is the largest business-to-business and business to consumer trade event in the Middle East and North Africa, targeting every major manufacturer, wholesaler, and supplier of products and services.

New Egyptian fertiliser complex by Uhde
Egyptian Agrium Nitrogin Products Co. has commissioned Uhde, a company of ThyssenKrupp, to build a turnkey fertilizer complex in Damietta. Agrium is investing $1.2 billion in the new complex, which will comprise 1,200 tonne-per-day ammonia plants and two urea plants with respective production capacities of 1,925 tpd. It is Uhde's fifth contract in three years for a fertilizer complex in Egypt.
Egyptian-German factory for oil& gas pumps in Suez
An Egyptian-German factory for the production of oil and gas pumps in Suez is supposed to start operation in September 2007. It will be the region's first factory of its kind. Investments in the project come from the Egyptian oil sector by 33% for EGP 150 million and the remaining part from the German Ruhrpumpen GmbH. The total productive capacity of the factory after the completion of its three stages is put at 400 pumps annually to meet local and exporting needs. The factory will also be assigned the task of maintaining all pumps in Egypt, as well as providing spare parts for pumps.

A Ready Made Garments Factory, located in the free zone in Alexandria, built on an area of 6000 sqm devided into 3 buildings, each 2000 sqm is available for selling or subcontracting. Metro to enter Egypt with 10 Cash & Carry stores
Frans Muller, CEO of Metro Cash & Carry International, the internationally leading self-service wholesaler announced during the World Economic Forum at Sharm El Sheikh its market entry into the Arab Republic of Egypt. Metro aims to open around 10 wholesale outlets in Egypt, an investment of up to 150 million Euros. It plans to open its first Cash & Carry wholesale store in Cairo by late 2009.
